People who get used to hooking up often have trouble forming relationships that really mean something. It's really better to wait until you can be with a person you really care for and want to spend time with when you're not horizontal. Hooking up is really empty and meaningless, and love is neither of those things. I prefer to make love rather than just have sex.

hooking up with someone is fine, as long as he's using protection. I would never be the type to hook up I prefer bf's. Also, I don't think using people is a good idea.

No, hook-ups are not bad! Just make sure you use condoms to prevent transmission of STDs or to avoid unwanted pregnancy.

hopefully, he's using condoms; if not, he's risking catching one or more STD's, many of which are not treatable, or easily treated, and could stay with you lifetime (HIV, herpes).
