I went for an ultrasound at 19 weeks and they found a problem with my son's kidney's. It scared me so much and really broke my heart. At 25 weeks I was sent to another doctor and further tests were done. Turns out my baby has a multi-cystic dysplastic kidney. Meaning he'll only have one functioning kidney, which is fine. It won't stop him from leading a normal life or anything. But I was so glad that they detected it early. I just wish it didn't happen to him, but we're fine and the pregnancy has gone normal, I'm sure your baby will be fine, it's always good to get a second opinion and gather more information. Good Luck.

i,m not sure about the one kidney thing but any complications are possible. I havent personally experienced this but as far as breaking your pelvis because of your size is not neccesarilly true because my friend is 4'9" and she weighed like 95 pounds when she got pregnant and she had it naturally and still is that size to this day after having the baby and didnt break her pelvis.
Did you say this is your old or new doctor? You have the right to get a second opinion so thats what I would do.

I've never experienced a misdiagnosis, in uterus. But while in delivery the nurse kept telling me that I'd most likely need a c-section since it seemed my pubic bone was in the way...I being too small or she being too big. But the doctor felt otherwise. Said to give a couple of pushes and see if she would get past....she did...though she ripped me a new one literally when her shoulders came out

Yes it is possible for the doctor to detect problems that early, i was 12 weeks with my first when we discovered there was a problem via ultrasound.
You see by 18 weeks our babies organs and body shape is formed they just need to put on fat, grow bigger and there brain and lungs need to mature.

Good luck and congradulations.
