Peter Wirtz stepping down to be replaced by Rockey really shocked me.
But this knocked me off of my chair.

For Blackhawk fans I sure hope so. Having Chicago back as a strong NHL city will be good for the NHL. Then we'd just need to get Minnesota back into the right division. Long live the Norris Division.

I think you're going to see a much less restrictive head office with the Hawks organization. Peter was more like his dad and Rockey will be less a force. You're going to see a new Hawk organization with coaching and on ice staff having more control over the team.

The most important thing that needs to be done, is there needs to be a TV deal. You've said that NHL teams make most of their revenue through local TV viewers, well the Hawks' games aren't even televised. I think that should be their #1 priority.

Yeah, honestly did not see that coming. I thought the status quo was going to be maintained.
Nonetheless, how this shuffle evolves as 'change' remains to be seen.
BTW, the Nash/Phx tilt is on the verge of blowin' up with 9 minutes left.
