how to network mac and vista?

i have a mac G4 laptop and a vista desktop. the vista is connected to my 2wire dsl by ethernet and my laptop connected to the same dsl routor wireless(wireless and ethernet dsl) do i need something else to connect them both (networking) and tell me spacific steps to get this done. i tried everything every one keeps saying. nothing works

you will never network the mac and windows together why? they are two different operating systems.. microsoft will not talk to OS/X and visa virus you will need to run one of the systems as a virtual machine or use cross over software for the mac to access windows,
