I hate when people do that. It's perfectly fine to show emotions. If not people would look like they were dead all the time and be hella boring. I've cried over my players leaving. I've cried over people going on the DL. I get teared up when it's the last game and shed a tear when it's the last game. I cried when Johnny Oates passed away a few years ago. You see these guys and learn to love them. It's a scary thought wondering how your team will do when they lose one of their star players. There is NOTHING wrong with showing emotion especially when it's about something as great as baseball.

The problem is that she is a broadcaster for a team. As a broadcaster, it is your job to tell the audiance what is happening, and to entertain them with stories and anecdotes that are relevant. You aren't supposed to get emotional about the team you are covering losing, or a player coming back.

If someone makes a great play, regardless of team, then you can show some emotion. Great broadcasters call the game as if it was being broadcast to every corner of the nation and every fan was equal. They aren't homers for the team that they follow. They aren't on first name terms with the players, they don't have nicknames for the players, and they don't get overly excited by mundane things that their team does.

Suzyn certainly has her short comings when it comes to broadcasting. However the one thing that stands out is that she loves her job and she loves the Yankees. God bless her for showing emotion. I have no problem with that. Joe Torre shows it all the time yet they don't criticize him like they have Suzyn.

Unfortunately many people have made fun of her when Roger came back but again she was thrilled about it and it showed when she made the announcement. I had no problem with that either.

I'll tell you one thing, I'd rather listen to Suzyn than listening to Joe Buck, or Joe Morgan, or Tim McCarver. Now that's painful! lol

Because people find it, 'unprofessional' to cry in public in front of thousands of people. It just ruins the Yankees and gives Sox fans another reason to bash us!

Its OK to cry if someone really close to you is hurting or something bad is expected to happen. But when you do it on ESPN and on the Radio its not you're job to cry. Save it for later.

Emotion is fine, so is letting out opinions in public. But not crying. It makes the Yankees look like a jack@$#.

It is not for a broadcaster to become part of the story. Her actions interjected herself into the story she was supposed to be covering for listeners. She stepped way over the line and it can be argued that her outburst overshadowed a major news item.

Yes she did show emotion, and for the most part that was OK...But everyone is Dragging up the fact about her making such a big deal about Roger coming back..... But after doing a little searching ...She was actually Born and Raised in BOSTON......Thats right .....BOSTON......

I think its because it wasnt very professional of her to be crying like that. People are like, this is why women shouldn't be in sports/cover sports, which I think is BS.
Honestly I found it hilarious.
I also heard she went crazy that one game Clemens announced his return, I hope its on youtube!!
