Part of my biology lab in school. I need three ways and have 2 already. The 2 I have are that they are all used as energy and that they all are based off the same molecular formula (CH2O). I can't think of a third. Help please!

They are composed of monosaccharides and they are hydrophilic (they like water) so they can be disolved in water.

By definition carbohydrates contain carbon, oxygen and hydrogen. They come in various sizes i.e. molecular weights, meaning some are simple and some are complex. They are broken down into sugars.

They are built from building blocks called monosaccharides which have a ring of carbon as a basic structure.
