You have a difficult topic in a time of distain toward gender differences, (but not impossible.) I, also, believe there are important gender differences, but good luck on trying to define them in a time when such differences are spat upon. You see, those who want to love same sex partners try VERY hard to spread hate about there being ANY differences. An outline suggestion that comes to mind:
Question: Child Gender Socialization?
A. Are Boys and Girls Different? How?
B. Should Boys and Girls Learn Different Things?
C. Should Boys and Girls Have Different Professions?
D. In what ways are Boys and Girls The Same?
E. What does the word, "Preference" mean?
IDK if this helps, but I sure HOPE so...

an odd question, but invoking. i guess teenagers (me included) get that from how we are raised and the people we come in contact with. if we're around a certain type of males when growing up (including race, personality, etc. ) then we are inclined by force of habit to converse with people that we are comfortable being around. same thing with females. i'm an exception. i'm nothing like my family, and pretty much hate most of them, so i converse with people opposite my family, so it really depends on the person more than anything else.

Male speech- who, what, when, and how.

Female speech- who, what she was wearing, how it made her feel, every bloody detail.

I do have to say I like the topic there is defiently a difference between a group of guys talking or a group with guys and girls.

I would say overall guys tend to be much more blunt and crude around other guys. Guys give their friends a hard time, not to tease but rather it's a form of male bonding. Conversations with girls would utilize more "socially acceptable" speech and less sexually oriented.

what source says that the premise is even true? WHo did a study that found out that "teenagers today have been socialized to expect a certain type of male conversation and a different type if female conversation from their peers."

from a gender specific view, there are somethings you do talk to males about, and somethings you don't. same with females.
