I have a 10 month old laptop running on win xp MDC, 18gb available HD space remaining , 700+ mb of ram... Power saving options set to turn off Monitor and HD after 15 and 30 min respectively....after hours of leaving my laptop, the display wont come back even by using my usb mouse and keyboard although I can hear sounds that its waking up.... waited for a minute or so...
