I love the name Brixson. I think its original and different and I really don't think in this day and age that he would get made fun of or laughed at.
I think its a very strong name !
If you are expecting now....or hope to in the near future good luck to you !

It fits well into the current trends. If you are looking for a modern, trendy name that is still unique, then this name is perfect for you.
What about spelling it Brickson or Brixon? I don't think you should have the XS together, as it is a little awkward.
In Cool Names for Babies, by Satran and Rosenkrantz, they have a whole section on inventing your own names. Check it out.
Consider these:
Paxton
Braxon
Daxon
Maxon
Paxon
Bolton
Danton
Colton
Zerrick
Greyson
From the same book:
1. take a boy's name you like and change the first initial and the end sound until you find something you like. (ie Jason-- Mason, Payson, Treyson or Derrik--- Terrick, Merik, Zerrick, Harick or Derrik--- Derrin, Derrian, Deridan, Derrison, Jerrison Garrison, Kerrian etc...)
2. Take an name you like and drop one of the syllables:
Malcolm-- Colm, William--- Liam, Alonzo--- Lonzo, Nathaniel--Haniel, Adrian--- Drian
This is from another book, the baby name wizard by Laura Wattenburg, also awesome.
1.Combine this list anyway you like f(feel free to add sounds)
Popular beginning:

Ay

Bry
Cay

Not much, I'm afraid. It's basically a misspelling of "son of a brick," and since the X already makes the S sound, looks quite ignorant. Also, it's similar to so many actual names -- Braxton, Bryson, etc. -- that it just seems completely and unnecessarily contrived.
If you truly love unique names -- as I do, so please don't misunderstand -- I'd find one with a real history (no matter how obscure) that's actually intriguing. No need to make one up ... there are millions to be had. :)

Brix is an awesome nickname! Brixson is not a bad name. I like Brixten better, but it's your child and your decision. Best of luck to you.

Out of curiousity, where did you get that name? I know you want originality and may may sound good to you but somewhere down the road he'll hate you for it. Just imagine what other names some kids come up with that one day...

Brix would be an awesome nickname, even if it sounds kind of mobish. I like Brixsan a little better.

Sorry not too fond of the name.
I am very name conscious -- seeing where my parents named me pathetically and I finally changed my name almost 1 year ago.
I don't like names that are trendy, hard to spell, hard to pronounce, and especially names that question your gender.
Original is one thing, but odd is another.

I personally think it's not a bad name. Not an amazing name either. I think with a little more thought, you can make something great. But if YOU like it.. that's what counts.

I don't much care for it. I keep thinking of "thick as a brick" and other unpleasant phrases containing brick.
The similar Bryson is a possible alternative. Or maybe Paxton, if you really like middle "x" sound.

I think at this point, people are just making up names with "son" at the end. I think it is a trend that will eventually slow down. I wouldn't name your kid Brixon, he might hate you
