No one got sick from it. I probably wouldn't do it today. I even ate fresh string beans while I was snapping them. So sweet.

Yes, my sister and I licked the bowl and the beaters. I still do, but microwave it a couple minutes first. We liked the mashed potato beaters too.

I used to get the beaters to lick, rather than the bowl. I wasn't
as much for cake batter raw, but I did go for the pie filling and
the meringue topping back then. My mom used to make alot
of different creamed pies. Chocolate, and coconut, and
banana cream and my favorite, Lemon Meringue pie. Oh those were the days. Mom got so she hated to make pies
tho.She would fret over the crust every time she got the
rolling pin going. Or sometimes the crust would get too dark
in the oven. So she'd often stand there and watch through
them by opening the oven door and peeking often.
Thanks for the memory!

Yes of course I did. That was one of the joys of having her bake a cake.

About the green beans, I was visiting a relative and there were several green beans she had on a cutting board. I stated how much I loved green beans and took a bite, and well, guess what? They were hot hot hot peppers. I was promptly given a wing nut by my brother-in-law. It was so funny. Never again.

My brothers and I fought over who would lick the bowl! No one knew the danger of raw eggs back then. For a while when I was fourteen I was making homemade eggnog by the glass. It used one whole raw egg. Sure wouldn't do that now.

Yes, I remember doing that! The whole cake making experience was fun. I remember me and my mom sitting down to have a piece of cake as soon as it was baked and frosted. The cake would still be warm, and we would have a tall ice cold glass of milk with it! The ultimate comfort food!

Never, My mom was a nurse and would not let us because the batter had raw eggs in it. We had fresh string beans but did not appreciate them(sigh) let alone eat them.

We always did, bowl , spoons, mixer beaters and anything we could get our hands on. There were 4 of us so it was everyone for themselves. I still buy cookie dough and just eat that. It taste better than the cookies.

YES! I loved it.
Also, I was 12 years old before I realized that cream cheese was for spreading on other things. I used to just sit down and eat a block of it - LOL!
