Is it just me, or do you always feel really stupid after playing an hour or two of solid video games?

It's just you. Most times I feel unaccomplished, like I could've done something else, but I don't feel any loss of intelligence.

No, video games do not make you dumb -- there was actually a news article on Yahoo! a while back that talked about brain surgeons that played video games. Those that did (and it could be anything from Tetris to Super Monkey Ball) performed their operations faster AND with more precision than those that don't play.

Not at all - well, unless you spend way too much time playing them. I've actually learned from some of my games (AC mainly). Plus, if video games made people dumb, then how would I have my straight A's in all advanced courses?

Video games make you smart only if your real good at video games. One time I was stuck on this stage for a whole week and I couldn't stop thinking about it so people would ask me question but on question I had to anybody was the codes to get off that bored. LMAO but it does effect you brain.

It depends a lot on the game, and how much effort you put into it. Some games can actually stimulate your mind. And if you are playing with other people, you can get some social interaction in too.
