Can you ask your question only once?

"There are very few species of truly aquatic, truly freshwater crabs. Most "freshwater" crabs are actually from brackish water, and are slowly being killed in freshwater. Avoid the crab for that reason, as well as the fact that it may go after the Goldfish's fins, and, the Goldfish should easily reach a size at which it would have no problem eating the crab.

As others have said, Goldfish get quite large (Commons will reach 1.5+ feet and Fancies will reach 8+ inches), so large tanks are needed. For a Fancy Goldfish, nothing less than a 15 gallon tank is acceptable, and Commons really need a pond, but a 75 gallon tank is adequate. Email me if you have any questions.

Hermit crabs are either terrestrial( need to live on land) or marine, so the answer would be No a hermit crab cannot live with goldfish. Fiddler crabs are sometimes sold as "fresh water" crabs, but they can really only survive 2-3 months in a pristine freshwater enviornment. Fiddlers will never thrive in a goldfish tank. They need a brackish vivarium( part land, part water) to truely thrive. A crayfish is the closest thing you can get to live in a goldfish tank, but if your goldfish is a "sinker" or likes to rest on the bottom he will be a meal for the crawfish at the first opportunity. Unless your goldfish is large enough that it can sustain claw wounds and get away, but that will cause all sorts of problems for your goldfish. Open wounds often lead to secondary fungal and bacterial infections that will further weaken & perhaps kill the fish. The treatment for such infections also can kill crustaceans such as crabs clams & snails if it is copper based. If you want to add interest to your goldfish tank, seek out fresh water clams, they are filter feeders & can do well with goldfish, some snails also can do well with goldfish, such as ramshorn or malaysian trumpets.

Some crabs can not live under water, so if you are looking at that kind of crab, no, it will drown if you put it in the fish tank. Get a book on crabs and see what type of environment and living companions they do best in. Go to a pet store and ask for their suggestions.

you've land hermit crabs and marine hermit crabs ... marine hermit crabs stay submerged yet require a salt water tank, so no goldfish ... and land hermit crabs, the final public could drown in an inch of water so as that additionally they could not bypass with goldfish ...

No, hermit crabs are land animals and must be kept out of the water.

Well, hermit crabs are saltwater (I think) unless you have saltwater goldfish, then don't.
