My daughter is 3 1/2 months and running a slight fever....99.3 (took temp under her arm) Not too high...but higher than her norm. She has been sucking on things non-stop and chewing on her clothes. Is it possible she is teething. I can't really tell from feeling her gums...is there any other way to tell? She has red cheeks and has had more stools today than normal.

My little girl is a little over 3 months and she is teething. I thought for sure it was to early but she is drooling like mad chewing on her little fingers and has been fussy which is not like her. She hasn't had a fever but my friends baby did when she was teething. Everyone keeps telling me that they start sooner then you think and it could be weeks before the little tooth pops out.

Yes, i have 4 children. 2 of my 4 had 8 teeth by the time they were 6 months old. my oldest son on the other hand didn't start teething until he was 13 months old. All children are different. All 4 of my kids were cranky, ran a 99-102 fever while teething. Red cheeks is probably just from the fever. Diaper rash is common with diarreah. Symptoms usually go away in about a week. If your baby has more than 3-4 diarreah's a day I would take him/her to the doctor. They easily dehydrate at that age. Hope it helps Only give fever reducer when nec. your baby is young to give it just for crankiness or discomfort. You can also give them a cool wet rag to suck on. I know it sounds nasty but they are really too young for teething rings & frozen teethers.

Sounds like she could be teething. She can teeth for a day or a month or two before the tooth actually breaks the surface.
My daughter got two of her bottom teeth when she was 4 months, never once acting like she was teething. But sometimes seems that her molars are giving her a hard time, even felt them at the surface only for them to go back down. Dr said it wasn't uncommon for that too happen, especially since she hadn't gotten her top front yet. She's now 7.5 months and one of her top front has just broke through. There doesn't seem to be any sort of rhyme or reason to it.

Sounds very much like it could be teething. My son was exactly that age when he got his first 2 teeth. However, it didn't seem to bother him a bit. I didn't even know he was teething until the teeth were already through. It wasn't until he was 7 months when he started getting his top teeth that he really had symptoms. Had a fever around 101 on and off for a week, runny nose, spitting up, cranky. Not fun, but it passes. Good luck!

Yes, she could be teething. Babies can get teeth as early as 4 months. My son got his first tooth at 5 months but he started the drooling thing and sucking on everything as early as 3 months. Even though you can't see any teeth, they are in there and they are trying to make their way to the surface.
