school internet security?

Question

IF i try to ascsess Youtube via proxy on my ipod touch at school with youtube being a banned site could i get traced to my ipod or since it is the schools internet would it just be traced to the schools ip. Dont tell me not to get onto banned sites and that ur not wasting tax dollars for me to goof of. if i come to school early im boered so...

Sounds to me like a class or 2 on computers and the technology may be in order.
Schools use what is called a Virtual Private Network and there are several different restrictions they place on there users as such.
They have the ability to trace the use of any of there clients , meaning they can trace every move you make.
So if you are bored I suggest you activate your Cell Phones Bluetooth and use your cell phone as your Internet Service Provider and bypass the school all together.

it will be traced to the computer your trying to access youtube on. If you have to use a name and password to get on the school network system you will be caught out for sure... every time one tries to access a band site it is recorded on the schools server. and the proxy site you goto is recorded also, everything you do on a computer is recorded.... that is including your home computer...it is also recorded on your ISP server so the word is someone has their beady eye on you no matter what and where you do it

if you would like to see the results of a recording of a trace then open up your e-mail, open up a message, scroll down to the bottom of the page a click on Headers,, it will tell you who sent the mail, what servers it was passed through to get to you and what Ip address it was sent from. everything that a network administrator needs to know. to trace anything and everything...

First this would be a bad idea because if you bypass it to do a bad things then someone is gonna most likely be tapping on your should within about 10 minutes or less. They can Total traffic control monitors traffic so if they notice anything irregular from one terminal(computer) they will just look at the ip address and then walk to that computer and see what is going on...and guess what then your in a bunch of trouble. If you just want to go view myspace or something at school cause they blocked it...then you need something better to do. If you looked for games then just type the name of the game you want to play into a search engine and go to like the 20th page of results. Pages in other languages are great cause they are really hard for automated filters to block

if you're using a proxy outside of the school they could technically see that there's a connection going from some computer to your ipods IP.

However I'm assuming this is wireless communication they would never be able to "find you." They can't. Again that's not the case if it's wired. give it a shot unless they catch you in the act using it they'll never trace it back to you. They can't trace it back to your proxy either as that info is confidential they'd need a court order to get at it.
