I do support a "war on terror," because I believe this boil has been festering for too long, and nukes are now a practical tactic.
That said, I think our Naked Emperor and his sycophants have dumped billions of $$$ and thousands of lives into a maw of mismanagement, cronyism and incompetence. The "war on terror" didn't have to extend to Iraq, when there were more pressing targets. Now, of course, Iraq has become a self-fulfilling prophecy, due to cowboy diplomacy.
That means that necessary funds for domestic issues are being sucked away to either cover our Naked Emperor's idiocy and incompetence or quell terrorists in training. (If my innocent brother/mother/sister/father were killed by an invading force, I'd take up arms, too.)
--------------
Great question. If I could, I'd give it two stars :-)

Heres a nice article about the new Virginia class submarines.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_class_submarine
we got 11 ordered in total. The current submarines in our fleet are vastly superior to anything in the water currently. The chinese are constructing the very beginnings of a blue water Navy. What is the motivation to spend 22 Billion? And you guessed it thats just submarines not counting fighter jets, aircraft carriers etc etc.
Clearly I would rather pay for free health care for the middle class than this kind of thing. All of it is unnecessary as we could win any war imaginable. We could not invade and occupy any country but we could effectively place a seige on the entire world.

If liberals ventured out of their mamas basement they'd discover the economy is doing very well, low unemployment, low inflation, low interest rates, record breaking stock market, by any measure, an enviable economy.
Education will not be fixed until we get rid of the idiots responsible for obstructing any real improvements, namely the teachers unions and start using vouchers.
If we stop giving free health care to the criminals who break into our country and get rid of the biggest expenses, trial leeches like John Edwards, health care will be affordable. I suspect if San Francisco was destroyed by terrorists, liberals would suddenly complain that out security needs are being ignored.

Definitely the issues you bring up are the important ones and not this bogus war.
As long as the neoconservative doctrine of perpetual war for perpetual peace is what holds sway in the White House and the State Dept. then we are going to see perpetual BIG spending - but not on education or health !

i think of there could have been many extra republicans staying residing house this election without Palin. If it weren't for Hillary, she would not be on the republican value tag. the reason they are not talking of any of those subject concerns, they're people who brought about our modern difficulty in usa. heavily, after those previous very almost 8 years, what do republicans could factor at and say, this makes us proud? Palin gets out the relatives values and non secular suited electorate because of the fact she is so staunchly anti-abortion and her professional-gun stances. The republicans understand this election is lost, she provides them fake wish to rally around and that i'm particular they even understand this. Too undesirable, it is the abortion warm button difficulty that extremely separates republicans from different human beings and rather of attempting to loosen up on the completely legal difficulty, they revert to their norm and pander to this base with this determination of working mate. it could not paintings this election. Abortion could be extreme up on the record for republicans, yet for too many others, we've larger issues.

Why do you think it is so slim....because of the war on terror....you better hope they are all on the same level....the war on terror makes it so the rest survives.....and the odds at the present time is 1 in 100,000 you personally will be attacked. If you are in a large city, the that goes down.....and the odds of knowing someone directly effected by a terrorist attack in a big city....about 1 in 250....I do not like those odds

The war on terror is a joke. Think if we put our energy into a better world and no it is not unrealistic to think that we can.
