Mine is before I have to go to a meeting or out to something big, I have to lean my head and snap my fingers. It's crazy I know but I did it when I was little as a joke and it stuck.

I have the same as your friend although I don't like to think it's OCD. It just irritates me if things aren't straight, I have an eye for it even when no one else can see it and it's not till I get the tape measure or spirit level out to prove I'm right that anyone believes it. Actually that sounds a bit obsessive doesn't it. It drives my other half up the wall !

I alphabetize stuff, from the bookshelf to the vitamins. I won't touch shopping carts because of all the germs they could have. I do a lot of color coding. Some things just have to be left in the order I put them in. I check my alarm clock several times before I fall asleep to make sure that it's set to the right time. There are more, too.

I went by using a huge Strokes area some years in the past. I nonetheless like them, yet they seem to be some distance from favorites. BQ: Juicebox, Razorblade (so paradoxically emo lol), on the different area, Reptilia and evening sunlight are my favorites. BQ2: Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Rage against the gadget, pink warm Chili Peppers, little doubt, 9 Inch Nails, Blind Melon, Nirvana, the Rolling Stones, the Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson, the Offspring... you assume me to be waiting to narrow this record down? i might say Gogol Bordello, yet in spite of the undeniable fact that they are NYC-based, i does no longer inevitably say they are from united statesa..

I count letters of words and anagram them in my head. I am 46 now, and I recall doing it from the time I learned to read, 42 years ago. I'm pretty sure that's why I am such a good speller.
I also do my dishes EXACTLY the same way every time, and count the stairs when I come down them.

I have something similar to that. I put things in their own groups... My closet is terrible... everything going from tube tops-tanks- cut offs-t's-mid sleeves- long sleeves-sewaters-hooded sweaters-jackets... My shoes are lined by type and color ... Everything must match somehow at all times! I can tell if anything is out of place that way ... even a hanger! its rediculous! even when I eat cereal! say ... lucky charms... I eat all the brown pieces first then even out the amount of marshmellows...2 horse shoes...2 clovers... then I eat them by group!

The overwhelming majority of people who claim to have OCD do not really have it. I'm a medical student and I've seen people with OCD. It's a very debilitating disease and you would not want it if you met these people. People refer to themseves as OCD to compliment their organization skills or perfectionist attitude but that's not OCD. That's just a preference or a conscious choice to be organizaed. True OCD people feel a compulsion and cannot usually function well in society unless they are on medication.

I have a rack that holds my dvd and games. All in order of console and movie. Things just have to be a certain way or it bugs me. I also buy a lot of pens, for some reason certain ones aren't good enough so I buy more o_0.

I can't stand mess, so when I am in a store and standing at the check out to pay, if I am waiting and the display stands are a mess, I start organising them. My husband thinks its hilarious, but I just can't help myself. My mother has the same thing.

i have an o.c.d. with my alarm clock.
i can never set my alarm for an even time,
it always has to be something random,
like 6:03 instead of 6:00.
and at night i always check to make sure
that it is set for the right time
about a billion times.
lol...
