Geology deals with scientific principles that can be subjected to the scientific method. "Energizing" a crystal has nothing to do with that. Please take your question to the holistic medicine category or some other non-science category.

I practice Taoist magic. It can be dangerous to store vast amounts of chi cultivated through meditation in the Dan Tien(the lower abdomen). The energy will start to burn your hands it gets so strong. So if you don't want to achieve a dangerous level of energy inside you or you don't have a master skilled enough to teach you how to mix both the yin and yang energies in your Dan Tien area which has been known to burn internal organs and kill people, you can store extra energy in a crystal. You can charge the crystal by meditating in a positive state of mind. When casting spells or healing with all of the energy inside you channeled through the crystal as well, you can project an awesome amount of power. Especially when practicing weather magic and dream magic. A Taoist alter also has crystals that need to be charged as well.

Your tourmaline has it's own energy and nothing you or anyone else does to it will change that energy. Just be open to it's energy.
