1.Make a conscious effort to reduce use of the word 'like' in inappropriate or odd places in your talk.
2. Initially take a litlle more time -a fraction of a second - to think what you wish to say. Say that slowly. Once your performance (in reducing usage of 'like') improves, you can talk at your normal speed.
3. If there is a relative, friend of well-wisher is around, request him (or her) in advance to pay special attention to your usage of 'like' in unwanted places in your speech. If they are close by, you can even have a pre-arranged signal or a barely perceptible nudge given to you when you use 'like'. Of course this requires the other person to be 'like-minded' in the use of 'like'!
4. If the situation demands, try using alternatives to 'like' in your talk.
4. An alert mind and conscious effort would work wonders.

You will just have to draw upon your own strength of character and make a determined effort to stop. If you keep at it, you will eventually eliminate it.
You will sound a lot more grown-up.
