Rubber and plastics are the best insulators to electrical and magnetic forces. You can use 3 different insulators such as cotton balls, rubber erasers, and plastic sheet coating, and by putting the magnet on a bunch of iron filings you can measure how many iron filings move and how much they move. Also you can use a magnometer or voltmeter to get an electrical digital measure.
