Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain is a great book and will really help you unlock your talent. By the way a friend of mine who is now a published graphic novel artists was not that good when he started. However he made a point of drawing every single day. He never gave up and now he is fantastic. There is also smart flix for great how to DVDs you can rent on drawing and every kind of art.
The most important part though is to fill your sketch books up. Schools you want to look at getting into is Art Center in Cali. NOT Art Institute which is a trade school. Art Center is a dream school for graphic artists! Also Savanna college of art and design had a great gaming program! When you get older save up you should go to E3 and Game Developers Conference. They are very important for meeting game companies and taking great classes in gaming design! You are a great age to get started! Best of Luck and don't forget to have fun.

A good book I found is called "The Pencil Box"
ISBN-1581807295

Check your local public library. Bring some books home and look them over. If you see any you think are worthwhile, you may be able to buy some for yourself.

I took a drawing class recently and one of the students had a book "Idiot's Guide to Drawing." The instructor looked it over and said it was a decent book. The writer explained steps in simple and easy to understand terms.

As an ARTIST you MUST know how to draw naked people. THAT is the technique one uses to CLOTHE a person you draw. The clothing is drawn around the nude form. If you do NOT do that the person will look very strange if drawin from clothing alone. Joints and bumps will be in the wrong place and all sorts of errors will occur. About nudes. An "Artistic nude" generally does NOT go out of its way, pose wise, to SHOW or HIDE anything. In porno or 'erotic art" the poses are often 'forced" to empathize certian 'features" That is the basic difference between actual art and pornographic crap. "Nakedness" is not "immoral" or pornographic, only how it is presented.

"Exploring the Basics of Drawing" by Victoria
Vebell (ISBN-13:978-4018-1573). It is very thorough and clear. It has step-by-step illustrations and covers everything from basic shapes, cloth, metal, glass, perspective, and the human form. It is also less than $25. It is one of the best texts for basic drawing I have encountered--an easy read, jam packed with pictures.
