I would like to know why you gained so much weight? Multiple pregnancy - twins triplets? Quit paying attention to what you ate? That has more to do with this problem than just exercise. Normal weight gain is expected to be about 20+ a few pounds for a full term pregnancy with one baby. More weight does raise up red flags. Almost all of the physical activities that you did before becoming pregnant can be done after you are pregnant. Good exercise is important no matter what your condition is. The four best are swimming, running - if you are sure footed and will not slip and fall, walking which is much safer than running, and bicycling. Swim laps in the local pool. It is good and easy on the body while helping stretch the muscles and maintain the flexibility you need for good health. Walk every day. I don't know what the distance is that is recommended, but you should do at least a mile a day. Pay attention to what you are eating and drinking. Sugar is taboo and most processed foods contain some sort of sugar so avoid processed foods and make your meals from scratch. Besides, using fresh foods is cheaper and provides more meals for the money. Make sure you are eating 7 fresh fruits and vegetables every day - divide them up for your meals, 2 for breakfast, 3 for lunch and 2 for dinner. Dinner should be the lightest meal and breakfast the biggest but in America we have it backwards and eat the biggest meal at dinner time. The logic is that when you wake up you will burn off your breakfast foods, but you sleep on your food consumed from dinners. Also as an added FYI, meats like beef and pork are muscle meats and take 3 days longer to digest than fruits and vegetables.

I was 63kg with my first and gained around 18kg, which was normal because i was underweight to begin with. I am now 20 weeks pregnant with my second son and so far have actually lost 6kg. I guess it really depends on what your body wants to do!
And yes you can exercise when you're pregnant, however it isn't recommended that you take up anything that you were not doing before you were pregnant. eg. if you were a runner beforehand, by all means keep running, maybe a little gentler.
If you haven't exercised much before you fell pregnant, best you stick to brisk walks etc. Don't overdo things, you tire a lot quicker.
Congrats and good luck! Enjoy the ride, it's so worth the end result

Gaining weight during pregnancy is inevitable. However, you can control your weight gain by eating healthy and exercising. Discuss it with your doctor first. What/how much exercising you can do depends on what your body is used to, and some workouts may have to be modified for you and your baby's well-being. And breastfeeding your baby will help with losing your pregnancy weight, you burn the same amount of calories as if you ran a mile every day. I breastfed and lost all 38 pounds I gained within two months of having my baby.

You can exercise, but within boundaries. Talk to your physician about it. Yes, everyone SHOULD gain weight while pregnant. At LEAST 15 lbs, and that's almost too little. You have to account for the growing baby, which has weight, and the amniotic fluid and placenta. You need to eat healthy during this time. Only use a trainer who's experienced with pregnant ladies.

Yes you must gain weight. If you are normal weight, you have to gain 25-35 pounds so the baby is healthy.

I actually lost weight durning y pregnancy...I ate healthy, and walked a lot...you need to check with your Dr before starting any exercise regime...I do know that there is a lot of things that you can't do while pregnant. You also can't let your core body temp get over heated.
