Always has been, and always will be The Rolling Stones. ( I prefer Southern rock myself - Marshall Tucker, Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, etc.)

Hands down, The Rolling Stones. They are the single largest concert draw and touring band ever. The sell out every show and have been doing so for over 40 years. They may not be the "Best" rock and roll band but there is no denying their history and longevity. They have delivered for their fans exactly what they wanted longer than any Rock act out there or ever. I declare them the "Greatest Rock and Roll band" and that is how they are billed and promoted.

I would have to say U-2 They have been on top consistently for years. It seems through all the trends and different kinds of rock music they show up regularly and get awards for best album. Hope they keep it coming.
