I have read that Illegal Aliens are being issued Social Security numbers that often duplicate existing citizen's numbers. I also hear that there is great pressure to simply make Illegals legal as they are.
What happens when "Juan" is made legal, and he has MY Social Security number? Does he then have rights to all my Social Security payments for him to retire on and get benefits on?
I have understood that the government WILL NOT not even check for duplicates, since it might catch a lot of Illegals that way in a crime, and have to deport them. And my Congressman told me that searching the SS data banks was physically impossible. He had been told that by SS people!
Now I know about any 2-year graduate of an IT course can set up data bank searches for duplicates in flash!
I have also heard that Congress makes billions of "free" money off the Illegal's "contributions" on the duplicated numbers, money I will not see.
Does this seem right and proper to everybody but me? Or not?

I have read this in news items here and there, on illegals and how they have to get SS #s to work but many re duplicates of existing ones...probbly from illegal employers who fill in a rndom number.
I suggest those who say these are not true look and research and tell me where I am in drror, then feel free to pile on the insults!

Davidmi7-- But is it legal for two distinct separate people to have the same SS#?
I have mine issued by the government in my name. If an illegal alien wants to work and be concealed, his employer can get him thru the system on a falsified SS card, and not be easily caught, but whose is the SS fund going to be to in the end? Different names, same number, both in use.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Joan. I read this on various news stories here and there, so do not have the list of exact citations.
And I wish I was as capable of fear-mongering as Al Gore, who even gets money and adulation for doing so.
Your input was interesting.
And no, from what I read, Congress does NOT reduce our taxes, but puts the money into their own pet projects, that then do not appear in any budgets, since the money does not officially exist in any budget.
Feel free to check yourself, you are capable, and refute what I set forth with facts!!.
