Have you seen those vehicles that can parallel park themselves? I think that is completely ridiculous. It is not as difficult as some people make it out to be. I have to do it only a couple times a month...

I used to not be able to parallel park at ALL, then I moved to the city I live in now. If you need to get downtown at all (and we have a fabulous, thriving downtown), you pretty much have to parallel park unless you want to pay for parking.

So I learned in a hurry :) And you're right, it's really not as hard as people make it out to be.

It's a piece of cake - and I have a large car. You just have to practice a lot to get the hang of it. It helps when you pull up far enough ahead of the spot you are trying to back into and leave yourself enough room to get into the spot. Sure, you might have to move forward and backward a couple of times, but as long as you park straight and leave the right amount of room next to the curb and can do so without hitting the car in front or behind you, then you are doing great. Who cares if it takes several attempts to do this? It's the end result that matters. My average has usually been a few times a month.

Very rarely and yes I am good. On one of the late shows they had some people trying to P-park with about 3" of room. It was so funny watching them play bumper cars.

I've never been able to do it, so the best way to avoid any accidental damage is to not do it at all.

Nothing quite like parking six blocks away from everything and walking.

No, I completely suck at it and will avoid doing it at all costs! Sometimes I have to park extra far away from where I am trying to go, but I just tell myself that it's good exercise to walk anyway! Haha! : )

I can spot a space and nail it. Like Frank Wess nailed that sax solo in Corner Pocket.

I am fine as long as there isn't some impatient jerk in back of me trying to zip into the space- then there is a fender bender...
