YES! In fact, because I believe sadness to be a poor choice of perspective, I would go even further and say there is way too much negatively skewed perception around the world. Things are constantly improving on all fronts, and one of those fronts is the dissemination of information (which has an ironically negative effect on the general consensus).

As information has and will continue to be disseminated in more easily accessible ways, the perception of the population changes as we are more and more exposed to the pre-existing negativity in our world, which then leads us to the inaccurate conclusion that things are getting worse and worse overall when in fact everything is constantly improving.

This disharmony between our internal perception and the external stimuli (which are naturally positive overall) of our lives causes great frustration, anger, envy, sadness, prejudice and all the other negative emotions/feelings that humans experience. The hard part to tell anyone is that it is their personal choice to perceive the world as either good or bad, and that simple little choice will influence every aspect of their lives forever. It is easy and natural to choose a good perspective, which is why the misguided negativity in our world is so emotionally painful, because underneath it all we all know it is false...just a matter of perspective anyway you cut it...hope this helps...
