earlier when i went to the bathroom i had this weird pink discharge-like stuff when i wiped....would that be the begining of my first period!?

Personally I'm not sure. I have discharge, but its only clear (white). If it's pink I think that you may have started your period because its not a symptom of infection. I would tell (ask) your mom if its normal and then do something about it. You don't want to waste pads or tampons if your not on your period.
Oh yeah, Don't be embarrassed to tell your mom about it, every girl gets a period and it's completely natural (just means your healthy).

Yes it is. It get get from bright pink to practically black. Here is what to do. Dont worry, telling your mom is EASY! I stressed about that and all I did was I told her over the phone. I said "Mom, where are the pads." And she told me. If you are uncomfortable with telling her then tell her you dont want to talk about it. She will understand. Your mom went through the same thing. When you get your period, just wipe yourself and stick on a pad AND BREATHE! Its only going to be there once a month. Dont use a tampon right away. You have to find out a size and obsorbancy. I suggest the tiny OB ones to begin with and get ones with an aplicator for two reasons. 1 you dont want to stick your finger up there and 2 its easier. About the cramps, get in a warm bath or put a heating pad or warm waterbottle where your cramps are to sooth them. Soon this will be and every month thing and no big deal. If you get the symptoms just slip on a pantyliner in case and wait. When it comes, just get that week over with.

yea sounds like it could be best bring tampons,period towels with and spare pants just incase u start when u are out
if u get any cramps then thats also a sign of ur period coming i would say it might arrive within 5days or longer
but cant say for certain
