Russia is closer to Iran so you'd think russia was more at risk, Iran hasn't attacked another country for over 200 years. Why all the propaganda against Iran and a push for war? Oh..neo-cons are in charge!

Iran is not trusted by either the USA or the Russians.
The Russian economy is cash poor, so it has to maintain all the trade it can keep.
Russia has billions of dollars invested in Iranian infrastructure including part of the nuclear industry. They do not want the Americans to bomb their investments, so they are working behind the scenes with the Americans in a kind of "good-cop/bad-cop" relationship.
As recently as 8 months ago, the Russians offered iran FREE enriched uranium in exchange for Iran postponing it own program to develop enrichment facilities citing a need for independence in case Russia should ever stop providing.
Why? because everyone knows, tht Iran has every intention of creating a weapon.
The Russians will tire of Iran's intransigence and then will stand back and let the Americans bomb Iran.
Then Russia will play "white knight" and lead the rebuilding, thus earning billions in reconstruction contracts. Kind of like the US in Iraq, but more cynical.
The US is not worried about a direct attack by Iran. The are worried that Iranian bombs or radioactive materials will find their way to the hands of terror groups in the way that other Iranian equipment finds its way into Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Syria and Lebanon.
Russia trusts no one, it is Russia's historical nature!
