Especially if you feel this is an illegal war, does this mean the troops are criminals for serving? Do you see them as mindless drones doing what they are told or are they brave men and women proudly serving as heros to us all?

Jim, my address is no secret to the government and I have yet to be arrested for my "criminal actions".

Old Dog, I don't feel like a pawn but more like a knight. I also remember seeing some of your Canadian brothers over there fighting along side of me. God bless them for their service to your country and your protection.

The troops are not only blameless, they are heroes, in every sense of the word. They put their lives on the line every day, and anyone who does not appreciate that is a complete fool and a poor excuse for a citizen.

I speak of the vast majority of the troops. There will always be a few who misbehave. The courageous men and women who risk everything and do the best they can, do not deserve to be tarred with the same brush as a few criminals in uniform.

I have a lot of respect for the troops. They are putting their lives on the line 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, during the whole length of their tours over in Iraq.

I may disagree with their mission, but they are doing what they are told to do. I do not see this as their being "drones", I see it as their being faithful employees. They are very brave indeed, far more brave than those of us who sit behind our keyboards and just type away as to whether they should stay or come home.

I do not see a war veteran who comes out and speaks against the war as being a "traitor", I see them as being brave in doing so. They did their duty and they should feel free to speak out about what they have seen over there, about how things truly are at ground level. Those of us who have never fought in Iraq are never informed of all the details- we go by what we are told by the press.

I would like to see the troops come home because I feel they are overextended, overexhausted, and deserve a rest. They deserve to see their families. Unlike what the White House seems to believe, these are flesh and blood human beings, they are not robots.

Despite what I think of why they are over there, they have obeyed their commands and done their job, and I can't fault them at all for that.

even if you feel they are being brainwashed, we are all being brain washed by the goverment. I am against the war and the reason for the war. but the military is just like regular society you have your good and bad soliders. not everyone goes because they wanna be a hero.they go because of what they can get out of the military in the long run. such as free education, retirement. they dont have to pay taxes when they serve and they get paid 24hrs a day. but that doesn't mean they're not brave they are still fighting. wich is a lot more then I can say for the millions of mindless drones who run away from it.

I view the troops as Americans. I view them as fellow Americans that have wives and children in this country. Anyone that feels the troops are criminals need to find another country. In other words good-bye, ta-ta, see you later, get lost and don't let the proverbial door hit you on the way out.

I think the troops are heros. I don't agree with the war at all, but I do support our troops and want them to return home safely. They are just carrying out orders. It's those at the top(Bush administration) who are the criminals.

No they aren't criminals or drones. They are pawns of the government. Many courageous to do what they believe to be proper, and courageous to follow the orders of their commander in chief regardless of how wrong they think the war is.
They are professional soldiers. They are warriors. They are the ones Bush and Cheney are using for their own agendas.
But even as a foreigner here in Canada, I can see that they are not mindless drones, nor criminals.

I disagree with the war in Iraq.

The soldiers are just following orders. They are our brave men and women who I would like to see out of harm's way because this is the wrong war to fight.

They are worker bees. Just the regular Americans that get screwed over by the special interest and lobby efforts in the US government. Halliburton makes all the cash and the VA gets funding cuts.

First let me say thank you for your service...

People like Jim W would never make it in the military...he is your classic liberal bed wetting mommas boy who is at his best wide stancing someone in an airport mens room not defending freedom.
