Easy enough!
Just multiply $60.40 times .25 (that gets the 25% answer)

another way to look at it is 25% is a quarter. So take 60.40 divide by 4 = 15.10.
So the 25% off of 60.40 is $15.10.

if you want to find out the discount amount you multiply your number 60.40 times the percentage ... 25% is .25 ==== 60.40 x .25 =15.10. the discount is 15.10. If you want to know how much you would pay you can just multiply 60.40 times .75 ===== 60.40 x .75 = 45.30
