Is there such a thing as a timed call blocker on cell phones?

When my daughter tried to call me from school at 330 and her phone said emergency calls only. What is causing that?

It is not a prepaid it is an additional phone on my plan and it only seems to do it for a certain time frame. Only for a minute or so.

Hi ziggy_brat,

If she has a prepaid and her minutes are used up it reverts to an emergency phone only. You can call 911 but not other numbers.
