why not do a big birthday bash on a day that is not his actual birthday, that way he really will be suprised.

Have a good old fashioned Irish Wake.

Then tell him you got the idea from a guy who is turning sixty soon. Add that I welcome him to old age.

In other words, have some fun with it. Things like black balloons, and funeral music in the background. Don't forget the Viagra and Rogaine. Hey, if you can't have fun with this birthday life is over.

I have a sneaky feeling something really nuts will happen around here on my sixtieth. Wish me luck, I can only hope to survive.

-surprise party with all his friends from various ages (child, teen, & 20's).
-take him to vegas for the weekend!
-take him to a couples swap party (everyone should try that once b4 they are 30)
-take him to dinner
-take him to meet your parents
