Well, it goes to proove that if you wait around long enough sooner or later you'll hear just about anything.
Silly comment? Sure. Most people really dont care. I think it refers to the idea that Clinton and Crist made a connection with minorities that Bush never could. Bush even waited six years to accept an invitation to speak at the annual NAACP convention!
And given ultraconseravtive PNAC Penelope's false "ebonics" answer, I would say many conservatives are embarassed by her.

WOW. Being a friend to the African American community constitutes a comparison like this? I am amazed you of all the Y! community goes here. Yet it is a current event. One that promotes more violence and separates us as people. A joke or a quip can easily bring us back 50 years.
Clinton? Which one? Both the same. But it is serious when nooses are being placed all about. A teacher at Columbia is speaking out. Come on here. We already went thru the racial riots and bigotry. These men are white, why?
Racism is a bad seed . The debate has been fought and won over years of blood and glory.
Added: I hear now why your Q&A is private. I am appalled and completely disappointed. No disrespect, yet, I no longer look at TOP Contributor so lightly anymore. OOPS you lost that title and went back to zero. Sorry.

That makes as much sense as calling Bush a "compassionate conservative" or Giuliani "America's mayor". It's just one of those idiotic things politicians like to say.

I think the one who said it was Maya Angelou. She was perfectly justified in using the term poetically. But I agree that it's ridiculous that so many people picked up the term.

That didn't bother me as much as Hillary calling herself the "co-President."

I never liked Clinton. I voted for him to keep Dole out.
What about his "pasty white thighs?"
