I know that my team just lost and I agree that they were over rated. This has nothing to do with USC losing though.

North Carolina State W 37-17
@ Georgia Tech W 24-10
Army W 37-17
Massachusetts W 24-14
Bowling Green W 55-24
I guess they're #4 because everyone keeps losing. They haven't been impressive yet.

I totally agree....even with a loss they are definitely not a better team than texas, oklahoma or USC

I'm a huge BC fan and up here in Boston, we're not sure what to think. They ARE good and the team is loaded with seniors and a great new coach straight from the NFL - but the toughest part of the schedule is coming up - @ ND this week (tough game since it is such a rivalry), @ V. Tech, Florida State, @ Maryland, @Clemson (they probably want to kill us after the last 2 years!) and Miami. They could win all of them - or they could lose all of them too.
I gotta give them some credit though. They play up here in Boston where no one cares about them or the ACC - all people care about is the Red Sox and the Pats.
Go Eagles.

I think the season will play itself out, and the rankings will be much more accurate in a couple of weeks. I will say that any team that is undefeated at this point in the season, should get serious consideration for being ranked in the top ten.
The only rankings that really matter are the ones at the end of the season. I've never heard any fan yell, "we're number one during week number seven!"
I was also shocked at the upset of USC. They looked unbeatable a couple of weeks ago.
Who knows what will happen the rest of the way.
By the way, I'm a West Virginia Mountaineers fan.

Im from the Boston area so i love the pats and Bc eagles. The reason there in the top 5 because teams are losing and they are 6-0 since 1942. We ARE a good team! When we kill V Tech in two weeks will shut u up!

Now that some of the big teams other than LSU are going down it seems people have a difficult time accepting facts. BC has a really good team and very well may win the ACC. Look at Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, South Carolina, and of course South Florida. They are deserving of their ranking thus far and time will only tell if they are overrated.

Despite your middling ACT score, consider yourself a lock to be admitted to at least some if not all of the schools you list above. The fact that students like you (and there are many) have "4.3" grade point averages and fairly lackluster standardized test scores is an indictment of math and English teachers everywhere. Anyway, keep working hard and things will work out no matter where you choose to go to college. You might retake of the ACT (or try the SAT) but I don't think it's urgent.

Boston College can't hang with the dangalang. They will drop to VT for sure. There are a lot of teams that deserve the #4 spot. What I don't get is by beating Bowling Green, you magically jump to #4 ? that's a crock, Bowling Green is not a good team and neither is Boston College.......Go Bucks ( a real team)

At least they know how to graduate players. 3rd in the nation behind Navy and Northwestern. Not too shabby huh?
That aside, perhaps they are over rated. Time will tell. It's the final ranking that counts.

No... They deserve top ten and pretty much top 5 like they are... Compared to all the other "Powerhouse" teams that are losing? Yeah.. BC deserves to be up there
If people still can suck up to Notre Lame after this season... BC can be up there.

dude, everyone up top is overrated right now.
lsu is having trouble with everyone (they are damn good, but would they be #1 last year or the year before?).
Cal is not a legit #2. I love them to death, but they are not good enough to be a #2. hell, they might not even be the best in their devision.
Ohio State is crap. they shouldn't be top 10 (except everyone keeps losing).
South Florida? At #5? really?
everyone is overrated.
