My mom has a little Chihuahua (male). He is about 6 months old and humps everything!! I don't want to hurt my moms feelings but I won't take my daughter over there anymore.
Everytime we go that dog will NOT leave my little girl alone and I get so aggitated. My mom gets mad at us for scolding the dog and always makes some remark about he's (the puppy) is just a baby and doesn't know any better. Well I am sorry, TEACH him to know better.
Now my mom calls asking why we never go by anymore and I told her because of the dog. I asked her to put dog in another room while we are there and she says she's not locking her dog up because he isn't doing anything that will hurt anyone.
Well it hurts me cause it makes me sick.
She says he will learn its wrong as he gets older, well then I guess she can see her granddaughter after her dog grows up.
I am just so disgusted and aggravated right now....

Tell her that the dog is trying to be dominant when he does that. It is better for him to be taught early that it is unacceptable. If he doesn't learn that now, it will only get worse. It would also help if he is neutered in the next few months. It doesn't have to be presented as something just for you or your daughter. It is really better for her, the dog and anyone who comes into her home.

You're children, your choice. If the dog's behavior needs changing then it needs changing. It's just like a human child, it won't know it's wrong until it is shown it's wrong. You're right to keep your children away. If she wants to see them, she can come to you, or she can train the dog. It's that simple.

Sounds like you have made your complaints about the dog to your mom clear. If she doesn't want to do anything about it, its her fault. Tell her to come to your house if she wants to see the granddaughter.
