I'm trying to do this in VB and I don't know how to get the iinverse sine.

sin(.8) ^ -1 does not give me 53.13 degrees.

you do this sin^-1 of .8 or arcsin .8
and that will give you 53.13 degrees

If you want the formula for arcsin:
arcsin z = Sum from n=0 to infinty of ((2n)!/((2^2n)(n!)^2)((z^(2n+1))/(2n+1))

You could also do arctan(4/3) = 53.1301 degrees
