I have a project in English and my partner and I need a book by tomorrow that we're going to read and do a project on. It needs to be something not too long but not too short, I'm thinking between 250-400 pages. It has to be an American author.

Here's what we're going for:
-something humorous, and maybe a little dark
-original and funny
-can be acted out in some way
-very entertaining
-can hold the attention of a 14-year-old boy who is slightly emo and loves dropping the "f" bomb and sexual comments.
-can hold the attention of a 14-year-old girl who loves sarcasm and ironic situations

If you have more than one book in mind, feel free to recommend them all.

Don't worry about a description, I'll look them up on amazon or something.

Thank you :]

Hands down if you haven't read it already, I suggest "Catcher In The Rye", it's one of my all time favorite books.

That's my first recommendation, I could probably give you a bunch more, if Catcher won't work for you.
But, in my opinion it fits your requirements to a T

I recommend James Michener's "Tales of the South Pacific," which qualifies as a classic by winning the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1948. Besides being a short(!) book, it consists of short stories, several of which would lend themselves to acting out. Two of the stories were the basis of the musical "South Pacific," but you don't need to use those two. There is a nice mixture of humor and seriousness, not surprising for wartime.

All the Pulitzer prize winners are listed at the source below, and you may prefer another one. Some, such as "The Yearling," were written for people your age.

Good luck.
