Sounds like you live in the city because of the lighters and pot smoking on the bus. The driver is not doing his/her job of watching the kids. Either that, or the bus needs another adult on it to monitor while the other drives.
Yes, fights tend to happen a lot in Jr and High school. Especially if the faculty doesn't have a good program set up for watching the students in the halls and anywhere else on campus.
Most fights happen because the crowd encourages them.Teens have to learn to handle their problems on their own and not just start fighting just because the crowd WANTS to see a fight.
Sex? Yea, that gets worse in HS too. Some just aren't educated enough to know what they are actually doing to themselves mentally, physically, and spiritually. All they know is that it's the "cool" thing to do and that people will think they're "weird" if they're found out to STILL be a virgin.
Actually, those who remain virgins and are PROUD that they are no matter WHAT anyone thinks or says, these are the ones who gain respect for themselves while still in school. And in the end, these are the ones that the GOOD men and women want as life long marriage mates.
What should you do?
Just keep a good head on your shoulders.Don't follow the crowd. Be careful of who you choose to hang with because they WILL influence you......you'd be surprised. I've seen a lot of "good" kids go bad just because they hang with a wild group.
Keep your head in the books, your feet on the ground. Don't let ANYONE get you down.
Make some GOOD friends and --- enjoy your Jr/Sr high school years!!

this is nothing really important to anyone else
some will lie and some will tell the truth
only worry about school and college
there are no contests
these kids seem to have some problems ... you can't use a drug on a public bus .... can you report this anonymous to someone teacher / school nurse / email / talk to parents ?
this should not be happened . the bus driver needs to be the grown up in charge . the bus driver is not doing job .
the other parents need to help the kids ... teach them
you can't be a tattle tale but figure out if there is away to get confidiential help .
don't let others confuse you ... you sound very mature and smart ... be a leader
good luck to you

Im in 8th grade too, but my school is an elementary/middle school. i'm pretty scared myself, when I get to highschool.
People always say how people start losing their virginity and how you'll get niners or ninerd whatever you call that.
I think you should stay away from guys, unless they're your friend, and stay away from all that smoke, take a different bus (if thats possible), or walk to school. I mean you need to excercise once in a while right? Don't become emo! Stay away from sharp things! LOL Uhmm..
if you have any other questions you have you should ask your guidance counselor, I'm sure they'll give great advice.
Sorry if I didn't help. Keep hanging on bud! Remember study hard =]

Is there any way you can sit and talk to your parents about it?
If you keep an open line of talk with your parents and they are good at listening and understanding, maybe they can help you decide how to handle this.
I never liked other kids that were rebelling all the time either, by breaking rules, doing illegal stuff...but for some reason, it's "cool" to do that stuff. Well, it's not "COOL" because it will eventually land them in major trouble....and it's not worth riskng ruining your reputation for the rest of your school years.
After school is over.... and you're all grown up.....if you kept strong and didn't join in the "bad stuff"....your life will be on a much better trail, believe me.....I know.

I think it's a shame that kids these days pick up the wrong habits and do these things because they think it's cool. I don't believe there's anything wrong with you for being freaked out about that kind of stuff. I want you to understand that there are so many people out there who do these things at such young ages. The morality in not only America but all over the world has declined terribly. Unfortunately, this is the world we live in. It's appalling to see the things we've embraced as society the things we at one time rejected.
Yet I think there's nothing more pure than a child who wants nothing to do with that garbage. A child who pursues keeping their purity and innocence from the filth of this world. I believe it is very wise for a young child to see the awful state the world is in and dread to be a part of the crowd that does things that are wrong....just to look cool. The fact that you don't like these things shows that you have a good head on your shoulders.
Nothing pleases me like seeing a young child who is fleeing the immoral and disturbing images of the disgusting and perverse way many people live. I love to see the purity in a child's heart because it's a seemingly rare thing nowadays because so many kids are being affected by what they see younger and younger.
You, my dear, have an excellent outlook on life I can safely imagine and I just pray that you continue to keep yourself from those things that defile so many others. What you recognize as wrong IS wrong...and I'm glad you posted this because perhaps people will read this and understand that if a child can point it out.....then something's wrong if adults can't bring this to people's attention. Yet the bible says..."A little child shall lead them." You have a humility and innocence I pray never goes away. I will keep you in my prayers regarding these things. Don't worry about what these other people say and do, just keep your focus on God and surround yourself with others who are not seeking wickedness and pursuing all these perverse matters. You just keep yourself free from that my dear. I guarantee you that God will keep you. Just stay in Him.
I love you in Christ dear sister
Be Blessed today.
Nothing matters more than God.

This is what i do.. IGNORE THE WHOLE LOT OF THEM!
The girls who are talking about sex with their bf are 9/10 times lying. Not many people actually have. Ok, there may be the dumb one who actually thought the rest did it and so she did herself.. Dumbass...
Whoever is smoking on the bus is suicidal. smoking kills, sit next to the window or something, or the other end of the bus. Don't die yourself.
The people with lighters are crazy, fire is dangerous and well.. fun but thats not the time or place for that.. hmm.. fire.
And the people with the sharpie pens are vandilising, gnore them as well and just don't do it yourself or get involved with it, that way you'll stay out of trouble.
Yes.. It is wrong, no you cant do anything about it, well you can but its pointless and you'll get cought up in it all.

Samantha, no matter where you go in society there are always going to be people that surround you that are 'different'. And i mean that in a negative way. The way that i learned how to ignore it was to simply avoid associating with anyone who you think will make you do things or act out of character. Like a good friend once told me
" Tell me who your friends are, and I'll tell you who you are"

No matter how preppy or rich the school is there are always kids like that. Don't get caught up in trying to fit in, and you'll be fine. You won't always be shocked by it, but you definitely know its not what you want for yourself. Trust me you'll be fine.

Teenagers (sometimes preteens) are just starting to learn to be adults. In the transition from children to adults. Learning more of the bad (more fun?) than the good. Try to ignore them and live your life & grow up doing what "YOU" think is right.
