This may come as a shock to you but, the wars will be over ammonia.
Once the oil runs out the engine of the economy will have to run on organic fuel (ethanol, bio diesel) made from plant waste.
The ammonia will be needed to make nitrogen for fertilizer to grow the plants.
See Haber/Bosch process.
Without this process many millions of people on this planet would not exist.
It is also needed for the production of munitions, so, who ever has the salt peter to make it will be in the same position as OPEC is today and the focus of the geo-political landscape will shift in that direction.

Well, first, there are a couple hundred years of oil left. We've bearly retrieved half of it. And certainly within the next hundred years we'll be running off of something new.
Secondly, there is exactly the same amount of water on Earth today as there was a hundred years ago. The only way off or out of our eco-system is if it leaves the atmosphere for space.
So I'm not sure what you're point is. Still, I personally believe the world is over populated so maybe we'll be like rats in a cage.

The War we are involved in now is for the same reason we will be at war for generations to come. Freedom of choice.
The Muslims that are War with us right now hate us. And it is not because we invaded their country. And it is not because we supported Israel.
They hate us because we can choose. Choose to believe, choose to not. Choose to go to church, work, vote or not.
If we do not fight back they will not stop. It has been seen time and time again, they can't stop until the whole world is as they say it should be. So you will worship, work, vote as they say. And they are never going to be happy until the entire earth is as they are.
So the age old question, what would happen if they had a war and nobody came, well then they would come here.
Becasue they are going to bring war, to whoever does not think as they do.
So you can fool yourself with the delusion that the wars are being fought for Oil, but you are just being Naive.
I am not saying Oil had nothing to do with this War, but it is not the reason the war was had. Nor is it the reason we are still there.
They want us dead, They hate us. And Oil or no Oil, they are still going to try to kill us.
As long as we are free, they are going to try to kill us. Because freedom threatens them more than anything on this earth, and they can not afford to have it around.

Water wars have been predicted for decades.
Basically, everything will come down to survival of the fittest in an overpopulated world many generations from now. That's what I think. Just an opinion.

There were plenty of wars fought before oil became so important. There will be plenty of reasons people can dream up to kill each other after oil is gone. People will ALWAYS trump up reasons to kill each other over.

Whatever other energy resources take oil's place. And of course the old standbys... religion, land and just generally not liking those you attack.
