belt is losing friction when cold because:
1) it is a touch too slack and needs a bit of tightening. Belts stretch a little after a few hundred miles after being put on.
2) an accessory is faulty and maybe causing a drag on the belt (unlikely if it only when starting the car).
3) the pulleys were 'glazed' when you took the old belt off - was the car screeching for a while before you changed the old belt? The old belt may have glazed the pulleys - if so they pulleys just need a light clean with solvent and a brush.

that's a loose belt. here is an easy way to figure out which one. With the engine cold, take a bar of (dry) regular soap and rub it on the inside and sides (as much as you can reach) of one belt only. Start the car, if the screech is gone, that was the belt thtt was slipping. If the screech is still there, soap another belt. Do them one at a time, starting the car after each one. When you find the right one, just tighten it up. ( the soap is harmless, it jsut makes the belt stop slipping for a while)

Make sure the belt tension is correct, but also buy some Belt Dressing and spray it on the belt.
