My favorites are (traditional) Megan and Catherine. Of course, the original Katherine is great as well ... I simply prefer the softer C spelling, especially in light of the current trend toward K names (or C names changed to Ks).

Also, many other spellings only seem to complicate things. Kathryn, for example, is not said the same as Catherine. It chops an entire syllable -- or half a syllable, depending on dialect -- off the name. Likewise, I've heard Meagan said MEE-gan, Megann said meg-ANN and Meghan with the H pronounced. LOL Megan is sweet and to-the-point ... and quite honestly, much more visually appealing than any contrived version I've yet seen.

Hope that helps. ;)

Alternate spellings just confuse the child and other people. If you want people to pronounce the names right, spell them the way they are meant to be spelled. Personally, I like Megan and Catherine (my favorite name by the way) best. Good luck!

Meghan and Catherine are the best spellings. Getting "kreatyv" doesn't make the names any more special, it just creates confusion for your child later on.

I think Meghan Catherine flows very nicely.

I like the traditional Megan and Katherine the best. Although, if your going to give a nickname of Kate, watch out for the popularity. There are 3 Kate's and 4 Megan's in my class. Good luck.
