Walk. Some toddlers will already be walking by the time they turn a year, while others will take their time and wait several months to do so. Either way, just about all healthy toddlers are able to walk independently without difficulty by 18 months, may even be starting to run, and often find a new way to amuse themselves by walking backwards. While many can walk up stairs while holding onto their parents' hands, don't be fooled into thinking that they can do so safely without close supervision.

:D good luck

My son crawled over to the sofa at 6and half months and pulled himself up on the furniture, and walked using the furniture this went on for 5 and a half months walking with furniture or push along as he didn't walk till after his first birthday more than 6steps together felt sure would be sooner.

My mum says I was 10month my elder sister 9month I think the average is 10-13mth.

Then it's a one way ticket to 'Bruiseville'!!!

I've known babies that started walking at 7 months and othes were 15 months. They (who knows who THEY really are) say that babies that crawl longer are actually more interested in learning about things that are around them than physical activity. I think it comes down to a jock versus academic scholar type of thing. By the way, that was a nice way of saying nerd.

Anywhere from 9 months to 15 months, mine at 11 1/2. But all kids are diffrent. My friends walked at 16 months and had no developmental problems just a lazy girl.. Usally though it happens right around the 1st birthday...

I understand that girls tend to walk earlier. I've seen some babies walking at 7 months, but mine walked at 11 and 13 months. I think it's only a health concern around 15 months. Check with your pediatrician.

Between 11-13 months. My daughter was almost 13 months and my son didn't walk until 18 months and since then he's run everywhere and hasn't stopped. They were both early which could be why they were a little (and a lot) behind.
