hey- i have a really good friend and i really like spending time with her, but sometimes I will say something she doesn't agree with or she thinks i'm wrong about and she will really get defensive about what she thinks is right.
i'm the kind of person that is pretty relaxed about other peoples opinions, so it bothers me, because i don't like the tension it causes. i also don't like feeling like what i think isn't valuable, too, or that i just might be right!!
how do i deal in this situation without making things awkward? (especially when it's about something that i know i'm right about, because it really bothers me but i don't want to push it because she'll just get more argumentative)

Taurus-- sorry, dude. Sometimes I get lazy. :)

(It's funny because I'm an English major... I also use really poor grammar when I'm tired, it's pretty embarrassing when I catch it. I didn't even realize, but usually I don't capitalize when I'm typing!)

Let her know that you understand her point of view, but you feel differently and we are all entitled to have our own feelings. Say something like" that probably would be best in your situation, but mine is different"

It sounds like the situation is already awkward, at least for you. My response to people's extremely overt opinions is to counterattack (make sure you have your nomex flame retardant suit on) or just say 'Uh Huh' then change the subject.

Your friend likes to argue and really likes to be right. She isn't going to change, so if you want to remain friends you are going to have to deal with that part of her personality.

Everyone always has a friend like that. If they can't accept your answer, you can't let it get to you. If you can find a way to prove your point, just do it. But don't rub her nose in it when you do.

I only have the problem of jealous husbands and boyfriends arguing with me because their women gravitate my way. Its not my fault. I never go after any woman that isnt coming to me or wants me to come to her

Be more assertive...tell your friend that you like her but that you don't like arguing and that she is not always right. Be straight forward about it.

P. S. Please use proper capitalization when you write.

its something that your just going to have to accept about her, you cant changer her. If your an easy person like you said, your just going to have to try & let it go.
