I remember Christmas 1952. My family wasn't doing well financially and we knew Christmas would be grim. I was 7 and the Christmas before , I only got clothes.
My Father was a gambler and when he won , he won good. That Christmas morning , I woke up naturally. I saw my 3 older brothers and My mom and dad all standing around my bed,
I saw rays of sunlight beaming through the windows . As I rose a saw all kinds of toys . Lionel trains, fort apache, Guns , guns and more guns.
Cowboy stuff and a Howdy Doody Puppet. It was the best Christmas ever. My mom had pancakes , bacon and eggs ready for breakfast with unending hot chocolate and hot apple cider all day long. I don't remember lunch of dinner. I guess I was too bust playing. What a day.

I hate to say this, But truly I don't have one. My Father left when I was 3 and my mother did drugs, drank, slept and lived off Welfare all my life.
No, I do have many now, I live life through and with my children and create our own memories.

going swimming with my dad after he was finished working. It was almost dark and it was just the 2 of us in "the old swimming hole" It had a tire swing to jump off of and the 2 of us splashed each other over and over jumping off..Can still hear our laughter.

At my grandma's house playing w/ my cousins while our parents worked. She has passed away and things aren't the same anymore.
