I start the game to play online and the screen just freezes and screws up so i have to shut off my xbox and then when i turn it back on it wont work. A red ring appears around the power button and just stays there. It worked a couple of days ago and thoughts???

The Red Rings of Death mean that your 360 has had a general hardware failure, not a hard drive failure. You'll need to make sure that you can get the problem to happen more than once, and also try the troubleshooting tips found here.

If, after all the troublshooting, you still get the red rings, you'll need to call customer service. They'll send you a box, you ship your 360 to them, they send you a fixed one (not always the one you sent in) and problem is fixed. You get to keep your hard drive and all your cables. Mine took about three weeks to get back to me. They will also send you a free month subscription to xbox live. The sooner you call, the sooner you'll get it back.

The Red Ring of Death has just affected your system.
This is caused by a Hard Drive Failure and will need to be sent into microsoft for repair. Give them a call for further detail.
And the repair will be free since MS just upped the warrenty for to 3 years
