I am reading Hannibal and I am thoroughly confused AND irritated. It's soooo concise and descriptive and there are dialogue that I have no idea what they are about. There are also so many abbreviations. Is my English really bad or that book is hard to read in general? There are so many organizations and terms with which I am not familiar. GOD, IT'S SO EXASPERATING.

Hannibal is one of the most intense, most confusing books out there. It soars way past Shakesbeare, and Dickens when it comes to a classsical literature. So no, probably not. Your grasp on the English language, and how well you comprehend words, and phrases of the eighteenth century really depends on the understandment of Hannibal, and almost every other book out there.

So your fine. I'd reccommend you read something a little smaller though. Try reading A Midsummer Nights Dream- William Shakesbeare. Classic, and simple enough for the smallest mind to comprehend.

I haven't read Hannibal, but I'd say your English is terrible. "Concise and descriptive" is kind of an oxymoron.
