22.4 = 56a / 5a + 10

22.4 = 11.2 + 10
22.4 = 21.2
Not true. there is no value of a that will make this equation balance.

56a / 5a = 11.2 no matter what a is.
you can divide both the top and the bottom by a to reduce to 56/5 which = 11.2

22.4=56a + 50a/5a
22.4*5a = 56a+ 50 a
112a=106a
112a-106a=0
a(112-106)=0
a*6=0
a=0/6
a=0

In the above mentioned answer...we cannot divide 56a/5a directly....This is Bcoz,one another number is being added with 56a/5a.. so,u have to bring to a common denominator and proceed on with calculation....

22.4 = 56a / (5a + 10)
multiply by 10 on both sides of the equation
224 = 560a/(5a + 10)
224 (5a + 10) = 560a
1120a + 2240 = 560a
1120a - 560a = -2240
560a = -2240
a = -2240/560
a = -4

i think the question should be like this
22.4=56a/(5a+10)
if that so
22.4(5a+10)=56a
112a+224=56a
112a-56a=-224
56a=-224
a=-224/56
a=-4

If anyone else here is fed up with "I can help you for that," please help me by reporting him. I have already done so, but I have been told that unless one more person reports him, nothing will be done.
