My name actually happens to be Emily as well.
The name is unbelievably outrageoulsy common these days, but i'm twenty five, back when I was born, it wasn't nearly as popular, though it's among a rare few, that's been among the top 100 over the century.
Now, a random & unsettling statistic I recently found out, is that our name has literally been the number one choice for females the past several years in a row...!!! (since 2000)
I really have no idea why, I can't think of anything that makes it hold any more significance then other names, I guess people are not original or just like it a whole damn lot.
Meanwhile, i'm an original, and I feel stripped of some of my unique identity *LoL*
