I can't afford to get one of those nice looking bible on DVD packages. I'm 51 and have been disabled for 14 years. I don't do much but sit around waiting for my next Doctor's appointment. In the past few months I've been getting these strong feelings that I need to read the bible. I try reading mine, but it takes 39 minutes dyslexic. I have read one page, usually have to read it a couple of times and am still not sure what I've read. The Living Bible has helped some, but not enough to keep me from getting frustrated and just chunking the whole idea of reading the bible - then a few days later that feeling comes back and I try again. Is something going on in the Christian world? Are other people getting these or similar feelings? Any help will be appreciated, but I have a real tight money situation. Please E-mail me at Tothebitterend@yahoo.com - if you think you can help.

even if you get a condensed version of the bible, if you are truely dyslexic, it wont be any better than reading the regular version.

being dyslexic means you have a hard time sounding out letters and words and putting them together. if you can sound out letters and words but it just takes you a long time to read, you just are a slow reader and need to read more and more to overcome it.

As with the other answer, I don't know if there is a cliff notes, though I would think there is. You definitely should talk to someone at a local church, or even a Christian friend. I know they would love to help. If you want, I would glad to help you find one in any way I can. As far as something going on in the Christian world... ...absolutely! Forgive me if this sounds "dooms day," but the return of Jesus is coming very soon. No, I don't know exactly when, but my spirit agrees, and the things the Bible says to watch for are really happening. I don't want to "scare" you into to a relationship with Christ. Rather, I hope you can find how awesome our Lord is. There is a reason we are willing to give up everything for Him. Jesus is alive. :o) And He loves you, me, all of us more than we can even fathom. I hope this helps at least a bit. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any (ANY) questions. God bless you (I mean that). :o)
...just thought about something. There is a version of the Bible called "The Message." I read it alot when I first got saved. It is really easy to read, and a very cool version of the Bible.

Are their any local churches in your area that you can contact? I bet if you explained your situation, one of them would be happy to donate a DVD or audio CD of the Bible. Other than that, I would suggest trying to find a new or used one online on ebay. Good luck and God bless!
