How long does water have to sit out for bacteria to form?

Depends on the purity of your water

Distilled water refiltered under a cell culture hood in uncontaminated autoclaved bottles could sit for ages with no bacterias to ''form''

Elsewhise, all your water have some bacteria already in it, just very low amount. For it to become toxic.... I'd guess 48hr at 37C would do the trick. In your fridge.... it could take weeks
