Some women after getting medical tests only end up finding out that nothing is wrong and that for some reason their body just does something different.
However, without those tests, I would be inclinded to believe something wasn't right. It's usually once a month....about every 28 days.
Now sometimes starting a birth control pill will give you two periods that first month. If she has started a new pill or gone on the pill, that would explain at least one month.
It's best for her to see an OB/GYN....especially if she hasn't before and you all are sexually active.
What a nice guy! Worried about your girl.....Ahhhh. Man enough to ask a question about a period no less. Way to go, dude!

The average cycle is 28 days. Some people are longer, some are shorter. I've never heard of anyone having a 15 day cycle - but if she's always been that way, then it may be completely normal. It is common to have an irregular period from time to time - due to stress or other factors. If she is worried about it, she should go to a doctor.

She's right. Everyone is different. Depending on her age. If she's under 20, then having your period twice a month or even once every 5 months is normal. Chances are, it will even out.
Ew. Why do you even know so much about her cycle? My husband doesn't hear a word about it. It's just assumed, I guess when I don't let him near me without clothes for a few days. The only time I have ever even mentioned my cycle was when it was late.

Don't think of her period as "once a month". Think of it as a cycle that occurs every 21, 26, 28, 32....you fill in the number of days her cycle lasts. So if her cycle is less than 30 or 31 days, she is bound to get two periods in one calendar month. For example, if her period is on a 26-day cycle, she could get her period on May 1 and then again on May 27. If her cycle is shorter, it is even more likely that two periods may come in one month. Usually woman ovulate 14 days before her period starts. I hope this clarifies this issue for you.
P.S. If you're worried take her to a gynaecologist.

It is not normal for a women to have her cycle twice a month. She probably needs to go to the doctor and get on some birth control. The birth control will help regulate her periods and make them just once a month instead of twice a month

Some people have theirs as close as every three weeks.
If your girlfriend is bleeding unusually heavy, she may need to have a D&C.
